The Schema workflow has four phases - from creative exploration to developer handoff.
This is the most important phase. Open the Canvas and start brainstorming freely. Swap sections, try different component combinations, experiment with layout ideas. The goal here is to extract and define the visual style based on the brand - not to finalize anything.
Stay loose. Work fast. Let the design direction emerge.
Once you have a clear design direction, adapt Schema's framework to match your styles. This means updating the Variables Manager with your project's colors, typography scales, spacing values, and layout dimensions.
Now build out the actual pages. Start with Schema's starter sections and components, then detach and customize as needed. Over time you'll create project-specific sections and components that go beyond the starter material.
When the design is ready for development, manually transfer the Figma variable values to ACSS. The variable names map directly, so it's a straightforward process of entering your values into the ACSS dashboard.
